Close to Búzios (25km) and a resort on its own for many years, this lovely city is a 2:30 hrs drive from Rio. Dunes, blue sea, white sand beaches and cold water - thus its name Cabo Frio (Cold Cape). A place that "cariocas" (Rio inhabitants) take their teenagers for summer vacations and long weekends. The Antarctic waters flow this way in summer and the waters are very cold and clear.

160km from Rio with good service infra structure has a few outstanding historical buildings like the Fort built in 1620 and a fantastic view of the sea and the city; the convent built in 1696 and the Nossa Senhora da Assunção in 1660. Last but not least and special for surf lovers - the Surfing Museum with more than 300 surfboards.
